Sensei Achene Moussaoui started training in Shotokan karate in 1974, and:
- 1982 achieved 1st Dan JKA under Sensei Taiji Kase
- 1985 achieved 2nd Dan JKA under Sensei Taiji Kase & Enoeda
- 1990 achieved 3rd Dan JKA under Sensei Enoeda & Myasaki
- 1994 achieved 4th Dan JKA under Sensei Enoeda & Tabato
- 2005 achieved 5th Dan JKA under Sensei Ueki & Imamura
- 2010 achieved 6th Dan ISKF under Masters - Teruyuki Okazaki & Yutaka Yaguchi
From 1984 to 1989 Moussaoui Sensei was a member of the Algerian national team. He was selected to represent Algeria at the World Championships in 1986 held in Australia. In 1988 he took part in the World Championships held in Egypt and in 1989 won a bronze medal at the Mediterranean Cup for team Kumite.
In 1989 he moved to the UK to train with Enoeda Sensei(9th Dan) at the legendary Marshall Street Dojo; headquarters of the JKA Europe. He progressed to become a member of the late Keinosuke Enoeda Sensei’s famous Marshall Street club team from 1989 to 2000 that won gold, silver and bronze at the Southern Region ,Inter-Regional, Nationals championships and International Enoeda cup several times. Additionally, he won the Marshall Street individual kumite competition in 1994 and in the same year won 1st place team kumite & 1st place team kata in the Southern Region, 2nd place team kumite at the Nationals and passed Yondan in that year. He then trained at Budokwai from 2000 to 2003 until Sensei Enoeda sadly passed away. Moussaoui Sensei was a member of the Marshall Street and Budokwai karate club committee until 2003.
He represented England at the JKA European Championships in France in 1998 and again in Maastrict, Holland in 2000 in both kata and kumite team and individual.
He has trained with the top Japanese instructors including: Okazaki(10th Dan), Yagushi, Kanazawa, Kase Chirai, Naeto, Kawazoe, Myazaki, Tabata, Osaka, Tanaka, Imamura, Takinori, Ogura, Sawada, Kawawada, Ochi, Yahara et cera.
In 2006 Moussaoui Sensei trained at JKA headquarters in Tokyo, Japan and in 2008 trained at the ISKF headquarters in Philidelphia and attended the Master Camp.
More recently he passed an intensive examination for 6th Dan at the 44 ISKF Master Camp in Philadelphia hosted by Teruyuki Okazaki in June 2010.
As an instructor:
Moussaoui Sensei has achieved great success as the Chief Instructor of Sobell karate club: in 2004 the club entered the first JKA National Championships and achieved:
-Senior male team kumite: 1st place.
-Senior female team kumite: 1st place
-Senior individual black belt kumite: 1st place
-Senior individual black belt kumite: 2nd place.
In 2005: JKA England Nationals:
-Senior male team kumite: 1st place.
-Senior female team kumite: 3rd place
-Senior individual black belt kumite 2nd Dan & above: 1st place
-Senior individual black belt kumite 1st Dan & above: 1st place
In 2006: JKA England Nationals:
-Senior male team kumite: 3rd place.
-Senior female team kumite: 3rd place
-Senior individual black belt kumite 2nd Dan & above: 1st & 2nd place
-Senior individual black belt kumite 1st Dan & above: 3rd place
2006: left JKA England.
In 2007: Sobell students won four trophies at the International Shobu Ippon.
In May 2008: Sobell karate club won: 1st place Men’s team kumite at the Shobu Ippon International. Additionally, students scooped five gold, three silver and two bronze places.
Also at the 2008 World Championships in Manchester, hosted by the Japan Shotokan Karate Association:
Senior Male black belt individual: 22 to 34 years: 1st place
Senior Male black belt individual: 35 to 46 years: 1st place
ISKF England Male team kumite: 3rd place
In 2008 Moussaoui Sensei was appointed Chief Instructor ISKF United Kingdom and continues to teach as a professional karate instructor.
