Grading Composition

Kihon:
The most basic form of karate training, kihon consists of repeating individual techniques many times.

Kata:
Kata (form) consists of a predefined sequence of karate defences and attacks against a number of imaginery opponents.

Kumite:
Kumite (sparring) is the main training method in which techniques can be used against real opponents.

Red Belt 9th Kyu
Kata should be performed without mistakes and using tempo, continuation and transmission of power. Kumite should be accurate in offence and demonstrate effective defence and counter-attack.

KIHON (BASICS)
• Gedanbarai (groin block) x 3 Forward Steps / Turn
• Ageuke (head block) x 3 Forward Steps / Turn

Orange Belt 8th Kyu
This grading is essentially basic in content, but students must demonstrate an upgrading of quality in stance, speed and power.
